Last School Day for Seniors
The last academic day for seniors will be Friday May 29th. The 4th quarter and the end of year grades will be finalized and posted in PowerSchool the week of June 1st-5th.
Our Junior/Senior Prom has been rescheduled for June 26th at the Holiday Inn in Fogelsville. Prom will include dinner and dancing. We will host the event only if it is permissible under Governor Wolf’s Stay at Home order. If the June 26th event is cancelled we will look to host an event on campus in July to celebrate our seniors.
Senior Academic Night will be held virtually on May 27th. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 and can be accessed through a link on the High School website.
Senior Athletic Night will be held virtually on May 29th. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 and will be accessible on can be accessed through a link on the High School website.
Senior Graduation will be held on June 4th. The ceremony will be held virtual and will be aired on our website at 7:00. We plan on airing a “Prelude to Graduation” prior to graduation, which will feature student created content, senior awards, and student videos, pictures and testimonials to celebrate our seniors. Our ceremony will begin at 7:00 and will consist of speeches from select students and administration, performances from our musical ensembles, and a slide honoring each graduate in the class of 2020.
We feel that it is important to hold an event that commemorates our seniors at the end of the school year. That is why we are holding a virtual ceremony. While a virtual ceremony will occur on June 4th, we will continue to monitor Governor Wolf’s Stay at Home orders and will plan an in-person live event later this summer if permitted. We understand the importance of this event to our students, their parents, the school, and the community. We will continue to meet with representatives from our senior class in an effort to take into consideration their wishes and concerns. We understand that this is their graduation and we are trying to do what we can to responsibly plan for the event. A decision regarding the viability of an in person event will be made after Governor Wolf offers guidance on large gatherings for the summer.
Cap and Gown Distribution
We are planning on using the last two weeks of May (18th-29th) for Cap and Gown distribution. We anticipate that we will have to restrict the number of students on campus during this time. We will continue to update this information as we get closer to the dates for distribution. Updated information will be shared out through email, social media, and through our school messenger system. These dates and times may be subject to change.
