CLIU Guest Teacher Program
The Guest Teacher Program is a service the CLIU offers to the community and our local school districts. Individuals who have obtained a bachelor's degree from an accredited college may apply to participate in the program. The program's purpose is to provide quality substitute training to individuals with limited or no teaching experience. The program is conducted in order to provide participating Districts and Career and Technical Institutes with trained substitute teachers. Each Guest Teacher exits the program with the basic understanding to be a substitute teacher on a day-to-day basis and an emergency permit issued by the PA Department of Education (PDE) which makes the Guest Teacher eligible to substitute teach in any participating District and Career and Technical Institutes. The opportunities are rewarding and gratifying.
IMPORTANT DATES:
July 21, 2025 – Application live on Frontline
September 19, 2025 – Application deadline.
September 3, 2025, September 4, 2025, October 8, 2025 & October 9, 2025 - Interviews will be held in person at the CLIU Main Office.
December 3, 2025 & December 4, 2025 – Mandatory Training. The CLIU will facilitate the training. The training program will include district administrators, a school nurse and special education administrator.
January 7, 2026 – Meet and Greet concludes the program and will be held at the CLIU Main Office. The Meet and Greet is a job fair for the Guest Teachers who have successfully completed the program. On this day the Guest Teachers will have an opportunity to meet district representative(s).
