In-Person (5 days)

  • What is the program?

    • Face to Face Instruction in accordance with CDC guidelines
    • Students attend Monday through Friday from 7:28am to 2:15pm (WCMS) and 8:00am to 2:45pm (WHS)
    • District teachers instructing with district curriculum
    • Intervention Services based on our current WHS and WCMS menu of supports

    Whitehall-Coplay Middle School

    • Students attend Monday through Friday from 7:28am to 2:15pm
    • Average class size: 24-26 students (WCMS)
    • Daily Time Allotments:
      • English/Language Arts: 
        • 53 min (7th & 8th)
        • 106 min (6th)
      • Intervention/Enrichment for ELA: 30 min (6th only)
      • Math: 
        • 53 min (6th, 7th, & 8th)
      • Social Studies/Science:
        • 53 min (6th, 7th, & 8th)
      • Lunch:  
        • 30 min with 34 min Homeroom Study Period (WCMS)
      • Special Subjects/Electives:
        • 53 min on 30-day rotations (WCMS)
          Art, Physical Education, Library, Music, Tech Ed, FACS, Health, Computers, Career & Business Ed

    Whitehall High School

    • Students attend Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 2:45pm
    • Average class size: 24-26 students 
    • Daily Time Allotments:
      • English/Language Arts: 
        • 85 minute block (9-12)
      • Math: 
        • 85 minute block (9-12)
      • Social Studies/Science: 
        • 85 min (9-12)
      • Lunch:  
        • 35 minute (WHS)
      • Special Subjects/Electives: 
        • 85 minute block
        • Art, Physical Education, Library, Music, Tech Ed, FACS, Health, Business.

    How do I enroll my child in the in-person model?

    No action is needed at this time. Your child will automatically be enrolled in the in-person model unless you show interest in the virtual learning program.

W-C Secondary Virtual Learning Program

  • What is the W-C Secondary Virtual Learning Program?

    • Asynchronous online Instruction from home
    • Students report to homeroom daily at a specific time for attendance/teacher conferencing
    • Students work in 5-day cycles referred to as mods
    • Pennsylvania certified teachers instructing with Whitehall-Coplay School District written or approved curriculum and books
    • Resources (e-lecture, e-stream, and e-brain) are provided to support textbook understanding
    • Daily time allotment minimum of 5 hours per day with flexibility for pacing
    • Limited Selection of Specials offered
    • Open office hours available

    What are the prerequisites for the W-C Secondary Virtual Learning Program? 

    • Follow established protocol for sign up and approval
    • Exhibit prior success with asynchronous learning or provide prior academic record of satisfactory attendance and performance 
    • Establish daily adult supervision and support for learning
    • Arrange pre-assessment academic screening when warranted
