  • CHIP Information

Posted by WCSD STAFF on 8/13/2020 5:00:00 PM
CHIP covers uninsured children and teens up to age 19 – and no family earns too much to qualify. With more than 124,000 uninsured children in Pennsylvania, this is great news for families! CHIP provides quality, comprehensive health insurance for routine doctor visits, prescriptions, dental, eye care, eyeglasses, mental health, and much more. CHIP covers uninsured kids who are not eligible for Medical Assistance. For most families, CHIP is free – for others, it is low cost. Many more resources can be found on the CHIP website at www.CHIPcoversPAkids.com, under CHIP Resources.

  • 4th Quarter Information

Posted by WCSD STAFF on 4/24/2020 6:00:00 PM

    Good Evening Zephyr Families,

I am hoping that this week of online learning for your child went well.  If you continue to experience difficulties please contact your child’s teacher. As we continue to move into the fourth marking period, I want to share our new grading system.  We felt we needed an alternative grading system due to the alternative ways our students are required to learn. Special subjects will not be graded for the 4th quarter.  Also, your child’s final grade will be based on their grades from marking periods 1, 2 &3.  Students will be assessed on the amount of work completed, as well as the level of accuracy of their work. The grading system will be as follows:

O= Outstanding:  Student did all the work for the week with consistent accuracy

S+ = Above Satisfactory: Student did most of the work for the week with consistent accuracy

S  = Satisfactory:  Student did some of their assigned work for the week with some accuracy

S- = Below Satisfactory:  Student did minimal to none of the assigned work for the week

As usual, teachers will be communicating directly with you and your children weekly through email, Google Classroom, Zoom among other platforms already being used.  Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this new assessment process.
