*Ticket prices have increased adults during the 2008-09 school year for ticketed events. Adult tickets will now be $5. Student and senior citizen tickets will remain $2.

*The first day of Spring Sports practice is Monday, March 2, 2009. Please check www.highschoolsports.net for your teams practice schedule.

* The Whitehall Athletic Department is accepting letters of application for the position of Head Girls' Volleyball Coach. Information can be obtained by contacting Mr. Hartman in the Athletic Office.

                                                                                   We are the Zephyrs!!!

So, what is the origin of our school name?

The Class of 1937 held a contest to come up with a school name. The prize for the winning entry was $5.00 (a lot of money back then!). David Steckel submitted the winning name of “The Zephyrs”. He told the following story at his 60th class reunion to our Superintendent:

“There was big and powerful locomotive that used to come into the old Hokey Station called a Zephyr and there was also an old Lincoln Zephyr passenger car back then." Both of them represented power and he thought it would be a great name for the spirit of Whitehall. Others agreed, he walked away with $5.00 and the name
lives on today!
