Steckel Health Room Information Center
Welcome to the George D. Steckel Elementary School Health Room Web home! Our staff is committed to providing the best possible health care to our Steckel students. This web page will provide useful information regarding events and basic health information. In addition, seasonal health tips will be available when appropriate.
Please take some time to peruse our website. Our goal is to provide a useful, informative communication tool. If you have any suggestions, please pass them along. It is our pleasure to serve and be a part of the Steckel Elementary School community!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sangeeta Dorner, School Nurse
Nurse's Notes:
At this time all families should have received BMI results for their child. Even though this screening is completed for the year, we would like to keep promoting ongoing healthy eating for everyone. Some ways to do this may include limiting sugary foods, eating more fruits and vegetables and encouraging daily exercise. Also remember, eating breakfast daily helps to prepare your child's body and mind for a good day at school. Healthy eating habits established at an early age can help to maintain our bodies and lead to a lifetime of good health.
With the cold and flu season upon us, it is very important to stress to your child the importance of good hand washing to prevent the spread of germs. For the comfort of your child, if he/she has been ill overnight, especially with a fever or vomiting, please keep them at home until they are feeling better.
ATTENTION PARENTS: please send in any new phone number changes to the main office, especially cell numbers. These updates help us to contact you quickly when your child becomes ill during school. Please remember that you can always add to their emergency pick up list at any time. Just send in a note with the names and phone numbers that you would like us to add.
